Graphic Designer

Fullerton, California, United States Part-time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop graphics and visual images for brochures, flyers, signs, promotions, displays, and apparel.
  • Assist with conceptualizing and pitching cohesive marketing campaigns.
  • Produce banners, displays, and vinyl signage.
  • Ensures client interaction is conducted in a courteous and professional manner by providing quality, professional, customer service in all communications and interactions (walk-in, telephone, and e-mail).
  • Advise supervisor of needed graphic supplies.
  • Must maintain strict adherence to safety procedures. Attend safety meetings as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:

 Education:

  • Must be a currently enrolled CSUF student

 Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Fine arts and/or illustration experience highly preferred.
  • Work experience in graphic arts; or have completed college level courses in graphic arts and/or fine arts.
  • Knowledge of photography, video, animation and motion graphics are a plus.

 Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must have skills in graphic arts; layout, typography, color theory, etc.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have computer and internet knowledge and specifically in the use of Apple OSX, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while determining relative importance of each, setting deadlines, and completing projects accordingly.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and interest.
  • Works effectively with coworkers, clients, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping supervisors informed of work progress.
  • Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.

Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly.

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, listen, walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.
