Job Title: Grand Stair Studio Instructor

Starting Pay Rate: $13.56

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


  • Teach appropriate class content according to class descriptions provided, unless approved by Information & Services Manager.
  • Provide appropriate lesson plan for each class session.
  • Provide list of equipment/supply needs.
  • Order and maintain all equipment or supplies needed.
  • Ensure equipment/supplies are returned at end of class.
  • Modify instruction for participants with different skill levels
  • Enforce safety at all times
  • Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of class attendance
  • Clean after each class
  • Organize storage area and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures; attend safety meeting as scheduled.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Information & Services Manager.

  • Papercraft (collage, decoupage, origami paper folding, papier-mache)
  • Textiles (Applique, Crocheting, Embroidery, Felt-making, Knitting, Quilting, Weaving)
  • Pottery (Mosaic Art or Glass Etching)
  • Painting (Watercolor, Oil Painting, Acrylic)
  • Drawing
  • Jewelry Making
  • Decorate Art/Crafts
  • Fashion Crafts

Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities: 


  • Must be enrolled student at California State University, Fullerton.


  • Previous teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer services.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments.
  • Ability to modify instruction for different skill levels.
  • Model, promote, and consistently enforce ASI and TSU policies.
  • Ability to motivate and keep classes engaging.
  • Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly.
  • Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.
  • Work effectively with co-workers, a diverse student population and campus community.

Additional Requirements: 

Typical Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs properly.
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, listen, walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standard.
