Position Title: Marketing Assistant 

 

Hourly Compensation: $14.56

 

General Statement:
Under supervision of the Marketing Coordinator, the Marketing Assistant collaborates with the marketing and design team to create and implement marketing campaigns for Associated Students, CSUF, Inc. and the Titan Student Centers. The Marketing Assistant must be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual looking to gain experience in a variety of marketing and promotional events and campaigns.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serves as a member of the ASI Marketing, Communications, & Design (MCD) team.
• Assists the Marketing Coordinator in the development of branded marketing campaigns (e.g., comprehensive marketing plans, copy, tag lines) for current and future programs as needed.
• Executes the implementation of marketing campaigns for ASI and the individual departments with the assistance of the Marketing Coordinator.
• Ensures consistent branding across all social media platforms and between the ASI and Titan Recreation accounts with the assistance of the Marketing Coordinator.
• Assists with pitches for proactive, marketing campaigns to educate students on ASI initiatives and opportunities
• Tracks existing marketing campaigns to completion and report on results.
• Assists the Marketing Coordinator in creating and managing timelines for MCD projects and works with MCD staff to ensure that projects are successfully progressing according to set schedules.
• Collaborates with the marketing team to improve engagement on social media platforms, increase knowledge of ASI among student body, and increase attendance at ASI events from successful marketing campaigns.
• Assists the Communication/Social Media Assistants in content creation for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn for the ASI and Titan Recreation accounts.
• Assists Communication/Social Media Assistants and attends programs and events to take photos and videos for social media coverage and promotional use which may require the ability to travel off campus and outside of the normal 8AM-5PM business hours including weekends.
• Attends marketing, planning meetings with Marketing Coordinator and/or Associate Director
• Assists in the development and distribution of ASI newsletters.
• Assists the Mobile Marketing Team with promoting marketing campaigns and upcoming large events.
• Assists the Marketing Coordinator to track MCD’s equipment requests (e.g., inflatable Tuffy, table skirts, games) and promotional giveaway inventory.
• Assists with special projects as assigned.
Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:

Education:
• Must be enrolled student at California State University, Fullerton.
Experience:
• Must have work experience in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, or related field or have completed college courses in marketing, advertising, communications, or public relations.
• Demonstrated experience planning marketing campaigns, data management, website maintenance, social media usage, and writing press releases.

Knowledge and Abilities:
• Social media knowledge of latest trends and technologies in design, production, and social media platforms to effectively market ASI campaigns and initiatives.
• Must have strong computer skills, including a knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, WordPress is a plus. Must have the ability to learn a variety of other programs for marketing purposes.
• Must have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to cultivate professional relationships on and off campus.
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while determining relative importance of each, setting deadlines, and completing projects accordingly.
• Must be able to work with, communicate, and interact effectively with others.
• Ability to work effectively with coworkers, students, clients, and others from diverse backgrounds by sharing ideas in constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress.
• Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.
• Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly.

Typical Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs properly.
• Frequently required to sit, talk, listen, walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
