Position Title: Visual Media Specialist 

 

Hourly Compensation: $14.56

 

General Statement:
The Visual Media Specialist will work with video, photo, and animation to produce content for programs and departments of Associated Students Inc. CSUF. This position is responsible for all aspects of production; filming, editing, animation, and finalizing. They will also be responsible for the distribution of content through all appropriate ASI channels and members of the organizations, as well as the CSUF campus community, as appropriate. The Visual Media Specialist must be a highly motivated, outgoing, and enthusiastic individual looking to gain experience in a variety of productions for the marketing of promotional events and campaigns, as well as internal corporate communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as a member of the ASI Marketing and Design creative team
• Work with the Marketing Director in developing a visual media strategy for meeting ASI promotional goals
• Shoot, edit, composite, and finalize video content for marketing and communications of ASI programs, events, and internal corporate communications
• Create compelling and dynamic motion graphic animations and titles
• Review and update content for ASI marketing channels online
• Produce monthly statistical reports regarding ASI’s online media traffic
• Document major and minor ASI events as requested
• Maintain and update server archive of all photographs and videos for the organization


Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:

Education and Experience
• Must be a currently enrolled CSUF student.
• Major in Radio-TV-Film or relevant communications major strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience shooting, editing, and color-grading video projects utilizing DSLR/Mirrorless camera workflows preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with motion graphics and/or animation using Adobe After Effects.
• Experience in photography with an emphasis on portraiture, and event coverage or photojournalism.
• Familiarity with graphic design fundamentals: typography, composition, framing, layout, color theory.
• Graphic Design experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong knowledge of cinematography principles: lighting, angles, composition, continuity, depth of field, rack focus, etc.
• Strong technical knowledge of digital cameras and related video production equipment.
• Skilled with non-linear video editing systems.
• Proficient with motion graphics animation.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Adobe Premier and After Effects.
• Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Demonstrates good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to recover from and continue to work successfully following disappointments, setbacks, or mistakes.
• Displays a positive attitude with customers, coworkers and toward work.

Requirements:
• Must posses a valid California Drivers Licence, and insured automobile.
• Must be available to for off-campus shoots that may require travel to the shoot location.
• Must be available for occasional weekend shoots and evening events outside of normal 8-5 business hours.

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to safely carry and lift up to 35 lbs.
