Clerical Assistant - SRC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Under minimal supervision, assist the Operations Coordinator and staff in the daily operation of the Student Recreation Center, including customer service and various general and specific operational related office tasks. 

  • Perform general office duties (typing, filing, faxing, photocopying, etc) and special projects as assigned. 
  • Receive and direct visitor and telephone inquiries ensuring customer service is conducted in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Type and distribute invoices, check requests, and purchase orders where applicable.
  • Assist in the tracking of monthly expenses in comparison to budgeted amounts
  • Maintain storage of records and files as well as track what needs to be shredded
  • Maintain records of requested and processed refunds
  • Photocopy material and information as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance and entering of information in the point of sale system (Fusion) used for cash handling, registration, reporting and other features.
  • Receive, process and use computer reservation system to generate reservations for student groups, on-campus and off-campus clients.
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled
  • Advise groups and individuals of SRC policies and procedures for simple reservations, food services, room capacities, setup styles and equipment use.
  • Coordinate follow-up evaluations on all events occurring at the Student Recreation Center
  • Produce daily and weekly reports for use by SRC Staff and campus community.  Calculate simple reports and cost studies.
  • Promote positive image of the Titan Recreation and its many programs and services by keeping current on all program areas and topics.
  • Track and report program participation and facility usage.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, update and revision of filing systems, forms and reports used in the operation of the department. Including equipment maintenance and work orders
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety procedure and attend safety meetings as scheduled.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:


Must be enrolled student at California State University, Fullerton.


Previous clerical or customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge and abilities:

  • Must be able to accurately type 35-40 wpm.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer services.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments.
  • Model, promote, and consistently enforce ASI and TSU policies.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly.
  • Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.
  • Must be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and interests.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, listen and walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.

Special Requirements:

  • Required to be Limited Mandated Reporter.
  • First Aid, AED, and CPR Certification required within three (3) months of employment.
