Customer Service Attendant Student Position

Starting Rate: $13.00/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision of the Membership Services Coordinator, the Customer Service Attendant assists in the daily sales and operation of the Student Recreation Center.
  • Must adhere to and assist in the enforcement of the policies and procedures of the University, the Associated Students, CSUF, Inc., the Student Recreation Center, and the ASI Policy Concerning Social Media
  • Answer telephone, walk-in inquiries, and emails regarding programs and services offered, take messages, and respond to general inquiries
  • Process membership applications, program registration, and product sales per established procedures
  • Learn and understand all policies per each department in the Student Recreation Center
  • Check in and check out all Student Recreation Center equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of front desk
  • Assist members with locker issues
  • During summer, assist Titan Youth Summer Programs with administration procedures
  • Train and have knowledge of all Titan Recreation departments and be ready to disseminate that information to the CSUF community
  • Serve as a direct liaison between future patrons and Titan Recreation by answering frequently asked questions in person and promoting Titan Recreation’s programs and as a whole.
  • Attend fairs for all students, associate, and affiliate groups associated with Titan Recreation
  • Attend outreach opportunities with Student Organizations, high schools, and any other event the Membership Services Coordinator deems fit
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:

 Education:

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University, Fullerton student

 Experience:

  • Cash handling and operation of credit card machines preferred
  • Customer-oriented service preferred

 Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills and manners
  • Knowledge of professional telephone procedures
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, listen and walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; clear verbal communication
  • Ability to function with moderate supervision
  • Ability to use a cash register
  • Ability to work evening and weekend shifts
  • Ability to be physically able to perform the duties as outlined
  • Work effectively with co-workers, a diverse student population and campus community

Special Requirements:

  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification within one month of employment
