Position Title: Student Recreation Clerical Assistant 

 

Hourly Compensation: $14.28

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Director of the Student Recreation Center the Student Recreation Clerical Assistant is responsible for performing administrative tasks to support the Titan Recreation department. Their duties include responding to phone calls or emails, maintaining an organized filing system and restocking office supplies as needed. The clerical assistant should have experience working with Microsoft Office to create and organize electronic documents and keep accurate records.

• Perform general office duties (typing, filing, faxing, photocopying, etc.) and special projects as assigned. Receive and direct visitor and telephone inquiries ensuring customer service is conducted in a courteous and professional manner.
• Type and distribute invoices, check requests, and purchase orders where applicable.
• Assist in the tracking of monthly expenses in comparison to budgeted amounts
• Maintain storage of records and files per the ASI document retention policy
• Maintain records of requested and processed refunds
• Photocopy material and information as required.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled and take dictations and minutes during meetings
• Produce daily and weekly reports for use by SRC Staff and campus community. Calculate simple reports and cost studies.
• Organize and schedule appointments for Titan Recreation staff members
• Present professional appearance and attitude at all time, and maintains a high standard of customer service
• Handle shipping and receiving for the Student Recreation Center
• Maintain strict adherence to safety procedure and attend monthly safety meetings.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Education:
Must be currently enrolled at California State University, Fullerton.

Experience:
Previous clerical or customer service experience preferred.

• First Aid, AED, and CPR Certification within three (3) months of employment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently required to sit, talk, listen and walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.
